The New Zealand Branch is delighted to welcome all Ricardians to Wellington for the 2026 Australasian Convention.
The convention will be held at a centrally located hotel in the heart of Wellington, with excellent access to public transport. The venue is just a short walk from the city’s main shopping precincts, the vibrant waterfront, and many of Wellington’s key attractions. This makes it an ideal base for those wishing to explore the city or to bring along non‑Ricardian family or friends for a weekend of discovery. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend social events and the conference is open to all interested participants, not just Society members.
Registration is NZD 260, which includes all catering throughout the convention, including the Convention Dinner. Proceedings will begin with a welcome reception on Friday evening, followed by an optional group dinner at one of Wellington’s many outstanding restaurants. Saturday will offer a full programme of learning, collaboration, and enjoyment, with topics currently including medieval embroidery, Isabelle of Cambridge and her connection to the Gunpowder Plot, Lady Anne Mowbray, and the intriguingly titled “Ham and Cheese”. The programme will continue on Sunday morning, concluding with a Society business session and a final lunch together.
A special accommodation rate has been negotiated at the convention hotel for Friday and Saturday nights. Please note that these rooms are limited and must be booked directly with the hotel, so early booking is recommended.
For further information or to request a registration form, please contact us. Expressions of interest from potential presenters are also very welcome.
